Smart Forstars Electric Car
The new Smart Forstars presents the next generation ForTwo and can be described as a futuristic, sporty and eco-friendly vehicle.
The Forstars is a two-seaters concept car powered by an electric motor, with a movie projector mounted on the front to recreate a drive-in theater effect. It can be controlled via iPhone and is connected to the audio-system, which diffuses sound through its speakers.
The new Smart car resumes the similar exterior design already seen on the Smart ForTwo and the For-Us concepts, but according to Smart many of the attractive design elements on the new Forstars will be part of the automaker’s future design style.
The new “Sports Utility Coupe,” is 139.76 inches in length, 59.25 inches in width and 67.32 inches in height and has more cargo space than the Smart ForTwo. The concept car is painted up in a striking Alubeam Rouge exterior color, which is matching Matt Metallic Titanium shade of the safety-Tridion cell. Said roof is made from transparent glass panels, giving both occupants a spectacular upward view. The interior is luxurious, cutting-edge and sleek.
The electric engine of the Smart Forstars concept is based on the same electrical components that powers the Smart Fortwo Brabus Electric Drive as well as the For-Us Concept, but it has a stronger 60 kW motor to go with the 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery. Smart ForStars can reach a top speed of 130 km/h.
The new Smart Forstars will be presented at the 2012 Paris Motor Show later this month.
