A 100% cotton platform for digital creativity
The future of interactive fashion gets closer than ever. Developed by a group called CuteCircuit in collaboration with Ballantine’s – a producer of blended Scotch whisky, the “TshirtOS” is system developed to allow you to program an ultra-thin LED screen embedded on a t-shirt via your smartphone. The shirt allows you to display virtually anything you want, whether it’s your Twitter & Facebook status, or show your digital poster against the fur industry.
“TshirtOS” consists of 1,024 LEDs arranged in a 32-by-32 grid, 32 microprocessors, and a Bluetooth connection and it is controlled using an App in your smartphone. The 100% cotton tee also includes a built-in micro-camera, a microphone, an accelerometer, and speakers to capture and display your images or videos instantly.
Although the product is still in the prototype stage, at the “TshirtOS” Facebook page, all future clients can register and add their own ideas on what other features a new interactive t-shirt should include.
