Best Eco Car of the Year
Citroen DS5 Hybrid4 has been named ‘Best ECO Car’ at Scottish car of the year awards 2012.
Citroen DS5 Hybrid4 stood apart from the competition with its revolutionary and ecologically considerate drivetrain, which delivers impressive performance combined with fuel and CO2 efficiency.
The advanced, 200hp full hybrid diesel powertrain brings together several technologies to provide spectacular CO2 emissions as low as 99g/km CO2 and fuel economy as strong as 74.3mpg.
The DS5 Hybrid4 model is the first car in the Citroen range to make use of the diesel hybrid technology developed by the PSA Peugeot Citroen group and first used in the Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4.
John Murdoch, President of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers, which hand out the annual awards, stated: “Making the most of every drop of fuel is the perpetual quandary of car makers. Whilst some try to go further by skimping on equipment or driving pleasure Citroen DS5 offers all this and much more. It uses ingenious hybrid technology to cut emissions and boost economy, yet it also has all the style and glamour associated with the iconic name.”
New Citroen DS5 was also shortlisted for the ‘Best Family Car’ award, a title in the past given upon the model by Top Gear Magazine in their 2011 awards.
