AVATAR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
‘Avatar Land’ concept revealed for Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park.
Walt Disney just unveiled the first concept art of what the Avatar Land will look like. It will be built at Disney‘s Animal Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, “in the world of AVATAR guests will encounter awe-inspiring floating mountains and wander through a nighttime jungle of bioluminescent plants that are alive with light and sound. Guests will also discover what it feels like to soar into the sky riding a Banshee.”
Construction won’t start on the themed area until 2014, and it won’t be open to the public until 2016.
Conveniently, 20th Century Fox and James Cameron have set the first of three Avatar sequels’ release date for December 2016.
