All-Electric Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe
Mercedes-Benz presented the 2014 SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
With the new SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive, Mercedes-AMG is entering a new era: the ultimate zero-emission supercar presenting advanced technology from the world of Formula 1 is the most distinctive and dynamic way in which to drive an electric powered car.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive has four electric motors provide 740 horsepower and 737 lb-ft of torque. As a result, this model model has become the world’s fastest electrically-powered vehicle: the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
“The SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive is setting new standards for cars with electric drives. As the most powerful gullwing model ever, it is also representative of the enduring innovational strength of Mercedes-AMG. Our vision of the most dynamic electric vehicle has become a reality,” explained Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
The 2014 SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive will be commercially available in Europe next year with a starting price of 416,500 EUR or $536,000 USD.
