Ada Zanditon’s Eco Fashion
Eco fashion designer and avant-garde artist, Ada Zanditon takes a sustainable approach to fashion as a part of her brand philosophy.
Ada Zanditon studied at the London College of Fashion. She worked for Alexander McQueen, Jonathan Saunders and Gareth Pugh before setting up her own label.
She is recognized for combining high-end, geometric sculptural forms with her original illustrations. Core to her brand philosophy is a sustainable business that treats people, planet and profit with equal importance.
When Zanditon designs, she focuses on the full life cycle of the garment, avoiding monoculture-grown conventional cotton crops and using recycled denim yarn, reclaimed polyester or fairtrade and organic cotton. All the fabrics sourced are dyed with AZO-free dyes, which mean they won’t turn into cancer causing chemicals.
Ada made her London Fashion Week catwalk debut in September 2009 (Vauxhall Fashion Scout). This year she returned to the London party scene with her stunning S/S 13 collection, “Tigress Reign”.
According to the designer, “SS13 is inspired by tigers, particularly the idea of a woman who embodies the instincts, power and elegance of a tigress. Think of a fusion between Deathproof, Kill Bill and a Bollywood romance where the characters are dressed in the uniforms of the British Indian army circa 1900 and Jane Austen’s gowns.”
